# Okta - Identity Verification for Account Management

The Okta Bring Your Own Identity Verification (BYO IDV) integration with 1Kosmos enables organizations to strengthen identity assurance during critical account lifecycle events. By completing this integration, organizations can ensure that only verified individuals gain access to applications and sensitive systems.

The setup involves configuring both 1Kosmos and Okta. Once configured, users will be guided through a verification process whenever identity checks are required, such as during onboarding, password resets, or access to sensitive resources.

### Use cases

**New Employee Onboarding**

Organizations can verify the identity of new employees during the Okta account provisioning process. As part of onboarding, users are redirected to the configured 1Kosmos identity verification workflow (such as document verification and liveness check). After successful verification, the user is returned to Okta and granted access to corporate resources.

**Self-Service Password Reset (SSPR) Verification**

Organizations can require users to complete identity verification through 1Kosmos before allowing a password reset. When a user initiates a Self-Service Password Reset in Okta, they are redirected to the 1Kosmos verification workflow to confirm their identity before proceeding with the reset.

**Privileged Access Verification**

Before granting access to privileged roles or sensitive applications, organizations can require users to complete identity verification through 1Kosmos. This ensures that only verified users can request or obtain elevated privileges.

**Contractor and Third-Party Onboarding**

Organizations can verify the identity of external users such as contractors, vendors, or partners before granting access to Okta-protected applications. Users complete the configured 1Kosmos identity verification workflow prior to receiving system access.
