Aadhaar verification confirms that the number corresponds to a valid record and that the holder's details match the information on file with the issuing authority. #### What Gets Checked Depending on the method enabled, Aadhaar verification can confirm: * That the Aadhaar number is **well-formed and valid** * That the holder's **demographic details** (such as name and date of birth) match the authoritative record * That the user **controls** the contact details registered to the Aadhaar, where a one-time password (OTP) step is used #### Consent and User Experience Aadhaar verification typically involves the user's explicit participation - for example, entering their Aadhaar number and confirming an OTP - and requires the user's consent to query the authority.
