BlockID Mobile Application User Guide

Overview

The BlockID mobile application is a consumer identity management solution that enhances the user experience by simplifying and streamlining registration and login processes while increasing security and privacy and reducing the risk of regulatory non-compliance. It enables a user to login to your website, online store, or other secure applications by leveraging their biometrics instead of filling out forms or entering a username and password. The biometric options include TouchID / FaceID, and LiveID.

This guide describes the following procedures to be performed within the BlockID mobile application:

  1. Download, install and register within the application
  2. Enroll the following Authentication Attributes and Identification Documents:
  3. Manage User Accounts
  4. Login to the BlockID Admin Console by scanning the QR code
  5. Log in to the tenant’s BlockID Admin Console using OTP - One Time Passcode

Download and install and register within the BlockID mobile application

  1. Download and install the BlockID mobile application (compatible with iOS and Android devices) on your mobile device. Visit the BlockID for Android or BlockID for iOS links to download the application.

  2. Click Install. After successful installation, click Open. The Initialization screen is displayed.

  3. Following the completion of the initialization process, the OnBoarding user screen is displayed.

  4. In the OnBoarding user screen:

    • Click Next > Next.
    • Click Register.
  5. The Registration screen appears with the message You have successfully registered with “BlockID”.

  6. Click Next.

  7. On the PIN Registration screen:

    • Enter new PIN: Enter an eight (8) digit pin.
    • Confirm new PIN: Enter the same pin again to confirm.
    • The pop-up window is displayed with Thank you! Account registration successful message. The BlockID mobile application’s Home screen is displayed.

Enroll Authentication Attributes

Enroll Biometrics

In this section, the user can enroll their TouchID / FaceID and LiveID. Perform the following steps to enroll these biometrics.

  1. On the BlockID mobile application’s Home screen, click Enroll.
  2. In the Enroll tab, from the list of Biometrics Assets options:

To enroll TouchID / FaceID:

  • Click on the Add (Plus) icon for the TouchID / FaceID option. The Biometric authentication pop-up window is displayed with the Do you want to allow this app to use biometric authentication? message.
  • Touch and cover the fingerprint sensor properly using your finger.
  • The TouchID / FaceID will be enrolled successfully. The pop-up window is displayed with Thank you! TouchID / FaceID is now enabled. message.
  • The Enroll tab is displayed with the success icon for the TouchID / FaceID option.

To enroll Live ID:

  • Click on the Add (Plus) icon for the LiveID option. The Information for the LiveID Enrollment screen is displayed with the instructions to be considered while scanning the Live ID image.
  • Click Next.
  • The confirmation pop-up window is displayed asking to Allow BlockID to take pictures and record video?.
  • In the confirmation pop-up window, click Allow. The front camera opens.
  • Follow the instructions to adjust the face at the center of the scanning box, blink eyes.

  • The camera captures the frame of the live blinking eyes of the user.
  • In the next scanning box, smile to get the live image captured. The pop-up window is displayed with Thank you! LiveID enrollment successful. message. The Enroll tab is displayed with the success icon for the LiveID option.

Manage User Accounts:

In this section, a user will be able to add a new user account for your root and tenant’s BlockID Admin Console. You can also add more than one user accounts, check the existing user accounts, and reset the password for existing user accounts within the application.

Add a new User Account:

Perform the following steps to add a new user account:

  1. On the BlockID mobile application’s Home screen, click Accounts.
  2. In the Manage Accounts tab, click on the arrow icon for the Add Account option. The Add a New User screen is displayed with the Scan QR Code tab.

  1. In the web browser, open the tenant’s BlockID Admin Console URL. For example, https://<customer>.1kosmos.in.
    • In the BlockID Admin Console, click Login with BlockID. The QR code is displayed.
  2. From the Scan QR Code screen of the BlockID mobile application, scan the QR code displayed on the tenant’s BlockID Admin Console. The User ID & Password screen appears to enter the username and password details for adding an account.
  3. In the User ID & Password screen:
    • Enter the appropriate username and password in the User ID and Password fields, respectively.
    • Click Add Account. The pop-up window is displayed with Thank you! The new account has been added successfully. message. The BlockID mobile application’s Home screen is displayed with the newly added user account in the Accounts list situated at the top right corner.
  4. To add more user accounts:
    • Navigate to BlockID mobile application’s Home screen > Accounts List (at the top right corner) > Add Account and perform steps 3 to step 5.
      OR
    • Navigate to BlockID mobile application’s Home screen > Accounts > Add Account and perform steps 3 to step 5.

View existing User Accounts:

Perform the following steps to view existing user accounts:

  1. On the BlockID mobile application’s Home screen, click Accounts.
  2. In the Manage Accounts tab, click on the arrow icon for the Registered Accounts option. The Select Account screen appears with the list of accounts added within the app.
  3. To reset the password of any user account:
    • Click on the desired user account. The Reset Password screen appears for the selected account.
    • Enter the new password within the Password and Confirm Password fields and click OK.

Login to the BlockID Admin Console by scanning the QR code

  1. In this section, a QR code will be used to login to the user’s BlockID Admin Console account. Perform the following steps to login by scanning the QR code:
  2. In the web browser, open the root BlockID Admin Console URL: https://<customer>.1kosmos.in.
  3. In the BlockID Admin Console, click Login with BlockID. The QR code is displayed.
  4. On the BlockID mobile application’s Home screen, click Scan QR. The confirmation pop-up window is displayed asking to Allow BlockID to access this device’s location?.
  5. In the confirmation pop-up window, select Allow only while using the app. The Authentication screen is displayed with the Please authenticate using <Biometric_option> from 1kosmos message.
  6. Click Authenticate and perform the appropriate authentication method. The pop-up window is displayed with Thank you! You have successfully authenticated to Log In message upon successful authentication.
  7. In the web browser, the My Profile screen is displayed within the BlockID Admin Console.

Login using OTP - One Time Passcode

In this section, the One Time Passcode (OTP) will be generated for the default 30 seconds. This OTP will be used to login to the user’s BlockID Admin Console. Perform the following steps to get the OTP to authenticate:

  1. On the BlockID mobile application’s Home screen, click OTP.
  2. In the Your Passcode for Login screen, the 6-digit OTP is displayed.

  3. Login to BlockID Admin Console:
    • To use the OTP authentication scheme for user authentication, enter that authentication scheme name at the end of the BlockID Admin console’s login URL in the following format:
      https://<Your BlockID Admin Console URL>/default/login?service= <OTP Auth Scheme name>. For example, https://<tenantname>.1kosmos.net/default/login?service=Loginotp.
    • Enter the username and password details or click Login using BlockID. The Receive OTP Via screen displays with Email, SMS, Hardware OTP, and Already Have OTP options.
    • Click Already Have OTP:
      • Enter the passcode that keeps on generating in the user’s BlockID mobile application.
  4. Click Login. If the OTP generated within the BlockID OTP screen matches the OTP generated by the authentication server, the authentication is successful, and a user is granted access to the BlockID Admin Console.
