# Multi-Factor Authentication

### Overview

1Kosmos supports a range of second-factor methods, giving administrators the flexibility to enforce the right level of security for their users and applications.

### Available Authentication Methods

| Method                 | How it works                                                       |
| ---------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **OTP via Email**      | A one-time passcode is sent to the user registered email address   |
| **OTP via SMS**        | A one-time passcode is sent to the user registered mobile number   |
| **OTP via Voice Call** | A one-time passcode is delivered via a voice call                  |
| **Hardware Token OTP** | User generates a passcode from a linked hardware token             |
| **Push Notification**  | A push notification is sent to the 1Kosmos mobile app for approval |
| **QR Code**            | User scans a QR code using the 1Kosmos mobile app                  |

All methods can be used standalone or in combination with a password as a second factor.
